Trading standards pursued Smart Save Solutions and its Directors
Following an investigation by Trading Standards criminal charges were brought against Smart Save Solutions Ltd and its directors. During the hearing, it was made clear that at least 300 people had complained about mis-selling issues, out of just 4,000 systems that had been installed by the company. Smart Save Ltd had told many consumers that they would make a “healthy profit” from the system only for them to witness their systems under performing, and not generating the returns they expected.
This company is known to have targeted the elderly who were sometimes visited by the sales personnel of Smart Save Solutions Ltd, within hours of being “cold called” on the telephone. It was not unusual for consumers to be asked inappropriate questions by the salesperson such as which of them was “likely to die first” as the loan would be taken out in that person’s name.
At the RECC hearing held on the 7th May 2015, Smart Save Solutions Ltd was charged with seven different breaches of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
A good service and recovered 25% of my payment to My Planet, for solar panels that did not perform as I was told at the point of sale.
